In ancient times, people liked to enjoy new wine, because for centuries winemakers did not know how to make wine so that it would not spoil. Beaujolais Nouveau is made in the same way as all wines born in Beaujolais, but faster. This is so that it retains its freshness and youthful playfulness, a touch of fruity aroma and rapid fermentation. Since the 19th century, winemakers from Beaujolais supplied young wine to Lyon, where it became so popular that it began to be nicknamed the “third Lyon river”, and it was soon also taken to heart by Parisians.
By law, young Beaujolais may only be opened/consumed from midnight on the 3rd Thursday in November. Originally, this was firmly set for 15 November, but because the date often fell on a weekend, which was not practical from a sales perspective, they switched to the principle of a “floating” Thursday.
ATTENTION: Registration for the event is required in advance
Full members have one ticket included in the membership and can use a second one for a non-member of the club, their guest, purchasing it at the membership price. Basic members can buy a ticket at the club price for themselves and their guest. A ticket can only be ordered after logging in to the club website.
