Friends, we will meet at Vyšehrad, near the Basilica of St. Peter and Paul on July 19 – we will start with a tour and continue at the adjacent cemetery. Then we will walk down to the Vltava River (with a view of Prague Castle as pictured here) to sit in the Podolská anchor restaurant where refreshments will be ready and we can stay as long as we like.
Every full hour Vyšehrad will ring with the chimes of the Chapter Church, which has undergone many changes in the 950 years since its foundation. The last reconstruction was completed in 1903, which gave the church its present neo-Gothic appearance. The interior is richly decorated with ornamental and figurative Art Nouveau murals. In the treasury of the church there is an exhibition of jewellery and precious fabrics of the Vyšehrad Chapter.
The tour is arranged in cooperation with the Prague Information Service and we look forward to an interesting interpretation and, most importantly, a pleasant meeting with you all. There will certainly be news about the projects 😉
As usual, entry after registration in advance. For club members 1 ticket per person for the price of a “Basic” membership, 2 for a “Regular” membership. For non-members 500 CZK admission, refreshments included.
Have a nice summer and see you here, or in then in August, 1st Tues. The standard programme will then run again from September.
Greetings
Petr Šedivý
