For the April evening we invited Mr. Jan Harnych from the Confederation of Industry and Transport of the Czech Republic – he is very active in the field of Green Deal especially in the energy and climate sector.
The Green Deal is a strategy that aims to achieve an environment free of greenhouse gas emissions and pollutants in the air, water and soil. It also means reducing chemicals (fertilizers, pesticides and antibiotics), protecting and restoring ecosystems. Implementing the Green Deal will mean massive investments in energy resources, infrastructure and technology. In the area of decarbonising the economy alone, the European Commission estimates annual investment of 3% of EU GDP by 2030. The Green Deal will move Europe whether we want it to or not. It will affect every area of society. Moreover, sustainable development and the preservation of the environment is ultimately the only way for the species to survive. Even us humans…
In addition, in future, banks will also assess the environmental impact of the projects and companies they finance and will therefore offer different financing conditions. The Green Deal will also affect our investments – so it is good to know more about the issue, the current and upcoming legal framework, and the upcoming support programmes. We expect an interesting discussion and informed answers.

The event is officially booked with the Confederation of Industry, paid, however we found it interesting to have first hand information. We did not hesitate. At the same time, even a preliminary chat with Mr. Harnych showed that it would be a good investment.
