Expedition yachting in Svalbard and Antarctica is an interesting topic. We will be guided through the evening by our colleague, club member, Ing. arch. Petr Vojáček and together with him Jan Pechar – head of the Czech Arctic Station. We will talk about expedition yachting in Spitsbergen and the Czech Arctic Station and then we will head to the other side of the world and show photos from yachting in Antarctica and South Georgia.
We’ll also talk about how it all started, how the University of South Bohemia helped build and operate the boat. How classic batteries work or don’t work in extreme conditions and perhaps how we could – thanks to our links with He3ba batteries and MES – help other expeditions.
