Most people want to be able to make faster and better decisions, to be more flexible, to cope better with change and to be able to adapt. And most people like to be inspired by nature. Do you want to know what the bacteria that have been “doing business” on Earth for 4 billion years would tell you?
He guides us through the evening at Venture Club and gives us an engaging talk:
Agile coach, lecturer and graduated biologist
Josef Lhotsky, Ph.D., is dedicated to weaving and unweaving stories, of which he loves the biggest one: evolution. He studied theoretical and evolutionary biology, and has authored and co-authored several books, but has also delved into philosophy and the history of science. His specialties are symbiotic relationships, collaboration, and education. He has taught at the Faculty of Science of the Charles University, the Faculty of Social Sciences of the Masaryk University and the Faculty of Arts of the University of UP, participated in a number of educational projects, was a member of the editorial board of the journal Vesmír and performed amateur theatre for eight years.
Since 2015 he has been working in the corporate sphere (banking, telecommunications), the last years as an agile coach, enthusiastic lecturer and creator of unconventional workshops.
His works include:
Symbiotic Universe: a biological event horizon,
An introduction to the study of symbiotic interactions of microorganisms. A New Look at Viruses and Bacteria, and
A Darwinian Night’s Dream, or What You Can’t Even Dream About in the Context of Evolution.
In 2016, he won the Academia Publishing Award for translation of scientific & popular science literature.
We heard his talk and were so impressed that we thought – let’s invite him. A seemingly strange topic, bacteria… because as you will see, it’s worth it.
The evening is free for club members with full membership, and a modest admission fee for basic members and guests. Payment of admission can be made on the door in cash, or in advance by card or bank transfer. Registration below required. We provide light refreshments for participants on site. The evening will be streamed and can be watched online.
We look forward to seeing you there.
