The evening will be guided by Martin Marek, sommelier from Alifea. (Aliefa is a wine importer and merchant, affiliated with Liv-ex, London International Vintners Exchange.) We met Martin at an interesting charity auction of old vintages of wine, and have known him for many years. In the past, Martin has worked at restaurants such as La Casa Argentina, Dock House, Wines Home and Vins de France. He has been working with wine for over 15 years, is a member of the Association of Sommeliers of the Czech Republic and a participant in sommelier competitions. And because diversification of investments is needed and there is never enough information, we agreed to host an evening at our Venture Club.
Wine as an investment? Yes! If you like premium wines, know that wine in premium form can also be an investment. It’s a commodity like any other. Just like precious metals, stocks or bonds, it has its investment opportunities. For those who love wine as a fine beverage, the En Primeuer option is an enticing opportunity to buy great wines at less than wholesale price and more or less wait for “bottle maturity”. For those who would only see it as a business opportunity, it is a way to value their money in an alternative way.
You can look forward to interesting information on investing in wine and the wine industry in general. If we see you in person, we will make the interesting presentation more enjoyable with a small tasting of great wines.
